Mark Polson is founder of the lang cat, Leith’s leading independent platform, pensions and investment consultancy, probably.

The lang cat works with financial planners, asset managers and providers, helping them develop better stuff and talk about it in a better way. Bit by bit, it aims to make the industry just a little bit less corporate and stuffy, more human and just…better. Mark is a prolific writer, contributor to the trade press and public speaker, even when people ask him not to be. He spends too much time going to gigs aimed at people considerably younger and more tattooed than him and has a guitar collection which is at the same time far too big and nowhere near big enough, depending on whose perspective we’re talking about.

In 2024 Natalie joined the Forvis Mazars Financial Planning Board and plays a key role in designing and implementing the long term strategy for the business, whilst also maintaining a focus on compliance and people management.

Natalie has been an advocate for both the Financial Planning profession and for female leaders in professional services for many years, involving herself in the PFS Power Panel, the ICAEW finance leaders forum, apprenticeship training events, and taking part in a number of mentoring schemes.

David Swanwick

David Swanwick is Dimensional’s Head of Client Communications for the EMEA region and is based out of the firm’s London office. David works with clients across the region and globally to aid the delivery of consistent and successful experiences to their clients.

He helps firms achieve their potential through analysis and application of proven practice management and client communication techniques. In addition, David leads the strategy and design for all of Dimensional’s EMEA conferences and events as well as the annual strategic benchmarking study, investor survey and study group programmes for financial advisers.

Prior to joining Dimensional, David was a private client adviser with SFG Australia, a leading wealth management business servicing high-net-worth families and organisations. Originally from a banking background, David was later appointed a director of a highly regarded boutique financial planning firm in Brisbane called Ellwood Barry McPherson, which later became a founding member of SFG Australia. He moved to London in 2011 to join Dimensional.

David holds a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology and the Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors diploma course. David has chaired industry committees and participated in numerous projects and panels regarding advice, investments, communication and practice management. He has also been invited to speak internationally by universities, industry bodies and external groups.

Ben Hanlin

Today’s speaker is Ben Hanlin – a world class magician and presenter.

 

Ben has over 2 Million followers online and has been seen on his own ITV2 Show Tricked, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and he’s even been a semi-finalist on Dancing on Ice. In the corporate space – he regularly hosts large conferences for clients such as Coca-Cola and Google.

 

Samantha Russell

Samantha teaches financial advisors how to design and implement digital marketing strategies to produce exponential growth through content marketing, AI strategy, social media and email campaigns, SEO, and video.

Her cutting-edge thought leadership is recognized throughout the financial services industry and has led to her being awarded an Investment News 40 Under 40, ThinkAdvisor Luminary’s Award and WealthManagement.com “Top Ten to Watch”.
